The internal medicine specialists at St. Elizabeth Physicians (also known as “internists”), provide long-term comprehensive healthcare to solve diagnostic problems and manage chronic conditions in adults and teens, ages 16 and older. Internists are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient encounters no matter how rare or complex. They are specially trained to solve unique diagnostic problems and chronic illnesses, as well as handle situations where several different illnesses occur at the same time.

These doctors also serve as primary care physicians which allows them to coordinate your overall medical needs, outline health and wellness guidelines and recommend specialists, when needed. The internists at St. Elizabeth Physicians are committed to providing you with compassion and excellence in all areas of your medical care, with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. This includes focus on women’s health, substance abuse, mental health, as well as effective treatment of common problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system and reproductive organs.

Our number one goal is to provide you with an accurate diagnosis and effective treatments while managing your overall healthcare and helping you develop a health and wellness plan that meets your needs.

St. Elizabeth Physicians also has providers who are trained and board certified in both Internal Medicine (adult medicine) and Pediatrics. These Internal Medicine/Pediatrics physicians (also known as “Med-Peds”) are able to treat all age groups from newborn care to geriatrics. This often allows for the caring for multiple generations of the same family, which provides insight into family dynamics, health patterns, and the impact of acute or chronic illness within a single family system.

If at any point, you are admitted to a St. Elizabeth Healthcare hospital located in Edgewood, Florence or Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, our hospitalists (hospital-based doctors who are board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) will be there to ensure you receive high quality medical attention during your stay.
